Villarreal striker Giuseppe Rossi could well be the replacement for Napoli striker Ezequiel Lavezzi, who looks all set to leave the club in the summer. Ezequiel Lavezzi has been linked with a number of clubs across Europe, but his destination seems to be the English Premier league after the striker recently admitted his fascination for the English game. Ezequiel Lavezzi has been one of the most sought-after strikers in Europe.
It is clear to see why – the Argentine has been the chief reason for Napoli doing extremely well in the Champions League this season. Napoli have been linked with Villarreal striker Giuseppe Rossi all season long, and the agent of striker Giuseppe Rossi has said that his client could well be the replacement for Ezequiel Lavezzi at Napoli.
Rossi moved to Villarreal a few seasons ago from Manchester United, but the troubles that have been present in the Spanish club has affected the striker too. Now, the Italian has admitted that he would like to win more trophies in the future and he does not see the possibility of doing so at Villarreal. He is right now looking for a move away from the Spanish club, with Napoli being mooted as one of the destinations.
“Lavezzi going to England and Rossi to Napoli? I cannot confirm, but it is a possibility that Lavezzi might leave Napoli. I cannot rule out Rossi joining Napoli. After five years at Villarreal, I think that all parties are more susceptible to listening to the offers that arrive. We will see, but one thing is clear: Villarreal are open to selling Rossi, and the player is ready to leave the club,” Rossi’s agent Federico Pastorello told Radio Kiss Kiss. Rossi has been struggling with a knee injury this season, which have limited his appearances for Villarreal.
