The Napoli manager Walter Mazzarri has said that he would be open to the possibility of working with the Italian international Mario Balotelli, who has been linked with a move from Manchester city in the summer. The 22-year-old Italian has caused a lot of trouble at the Premier league champions, while his form has also not been this season. He has managed to score just one goal in all competitions, which have intensified rumours of an impending departure from the Etihad stadium. The striker was signed from the Italian club Inter Milan for £ 24 million back in 2010.
Mazzarri has revealed that he would like to see Edinson Cavani paired alongside Mario Balotelli at Napoli. The Uruguay striker is regarded one of the best in the world and he has been linked with several clubs in Europe. Recently, Mazzarri came out in praise of the 25-year-old after he helped the team record a great 4-1 win over Roma during the weekend. This was only the second victory for the club in the last five matches, but it has helped them move into the third position due to the other results going their way. They are only two points behind their arch rivals Lazio in the table.
“I’ve never had the opportunity to meet Balotelli in person. Only those who have had him in their squad know what problems he could cause, but I have experience and I’d find coaching him stimulating. Cavani was stunning. He became a top player at Napoli. Roma are on a par with Juventus, so we put in a great performance tonight,” said Mazzarri after the 4-1 win in which Edinson Cavani scored a wonderful hat-trick. Even though the title may be out of reach, Mazzarri still believes in the prospect of beating Juventus to the Italian Serie A title.
